FAQs
Q. I suffer from FIBROMYALGIA. Can LIGAMEND be helpful for this condition?
A. Yes it is possible as several of the ingredients in LIGAMEND can provide relief through their anti-inflammatory action.
Q. If I sprain a joint, or break a bone, there is often muscle or tendon damage that occurs at the same time. Can I combine LIGAMEND with other products to treat these conditions together?
A. We only recommend this strategy when using products in the Nu-Life line such as HINGEGUARD (joint health-sprains) and FRAMEWORK (bone health), as we understand any ingredient interactions with our own formulas. Before combining these products, it is best to consult with your healthcare practitioner for the strategy and dosages that are best suited to your individual condition/injury.
Q. I noticed on the package it states GDU=Gelatin Digesting Units. Does this mean there is gelatin in the product?
A. No, there is no gelatin in the product. The term GDU refers to the testing method used to measure the activity of the digestive enzyme bromelain. Bromelain breaks down gelatin – a protein – so the amount of gelatin that can be broken down by bromelain is the measure of enzyme activity measured as Gelatin Digesting Units per Gram of bromelain (GDU/g). Bromelain has an anti-inflammatory role in this formula.
Q. Will I get too much of some nutrients if I take LIGAMEND with my Nu-Life Multivitamin?
A. No, you can use these products together. LIGAMEND was formulated making the assumption that a person might be taking any one of our multivitamin formulas.
Q. Does your product contain gluten or other allergens?
A. All of our Condition Specific products are gluten-free. Please check the label for the allergen disclaimer. If it states “free from wheat” or “gluten”, this indicates the product does not contain gluten.
Q. Does your product contain other allergens?
A. Please check the label for the allergen disclaimer to learn more about the specific product and the allergens it is free from. Most products are free from preservatives, artificial colours, artificial flavours, artificial sweeteners, wheat, gluten, dairy, starch, and yeast.
Q. I am taking medication, is it safe to take with this supplement?
A. It is best to consult with your pharmacist or doctor regarding medications and any potential interactions. Online websites (www.drugdigest.org; www.supplementinfo.org) may provide some guidance, but again their information should be discussed with a health professional.
