FAQs
Q. There are CAL/MAG 2:1 TABLETS, VEGICAPS AND CHEWABLE FORMS along with this LIQUID form. Which form is best suited for me?
A. It is best to choose the form that will fit into your lifestyle best and keep you taking the product regularly. All products provide the same ratio of calcium to magnesium, so health benefits will be equal. Some individuals prefer the ease of tablets or vegicaps and prefer to swallow pills versus tasting products. And vegicaps can provide quicker absorption for those with sluggish digestion versus the caplet form. For those who have trouble swallowing pills, chewables and liquids are an option. Chewables can provide higher dosage in just two chewable tablets and provide fast absorption. Liquid can provide faster, more complete absorption versus the other forms, plus it can allow for controlled dosage levels to meet specific recommended dosages.
Q. I noticed another bone formula on your website called FRAMEWORK. Why would I choose FRAMEWORK versus OPTI-CAL/MAG LIQUID?
A. FRAMEWORK is our premium bone health product that provides all the major key nutrients that help build and protect bone health. If you are looking for the best product to prevent or manage osteoporosis, or if you have a family history of osteoporosis, you should consider using FRAMEWORK.
Q. Will I get too much of some nutrients if I take OPTI CAL/MAG 2:1 LIQUID with my Nu-Life Multivitamin?
A. No, you can use these products together. OPTI CAL/MAG 2:1 LIQUID was formulated making the assumption that a person might be taking any one of our multivitamin formulas.
Q. How much sugar is in a tablespoon and how many calories?
A. There is 2.5 grams of sugar per tablespoon and 10 calories. This is low glycemic fruit sugar (fructose), therefore it is safe for diabetics.
Q. My kids do not eat enough dairy products. Can I give them OPTI CAL/MAG 2:1 LIQUID?
A. You may use this for your children, but be sure to use with the guidance of a health care practitioner and assess their dosage needs based on their health, diet and body weight. In some cases, children may be getting more calcium than it appears because they are making other good food choices that are rich in calcium, so their intake levels should be assessed.
Q. Is OPTI CAL/MAG 2:1 LIQUID safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
A. In general, the ingredients are deemed safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it is recommended that you check with your health care practitioner to determine the safety levels for you specifically.
Q. Does this product contain gluten or other allergens?
A. All of our Basic Booster products including OPTI CAL/MAG 2:1 LIQUID are gluten-free. Please check the label for the allergen disclaimer. If it states “free from wheat” or “gluten”, this indicates the product does not contain gluten. See the ingredients listing to view the list of allergens/ingredients not contained in the product.
Q. I am taking medication, is it safe to take with this supplement?
A. It is best to consult with your pharmacist or doctor regarding medications and any potential interactions. Online websites (www.drugdigest.org; www.supplementinfo.org) may provide some guidance, but again their information should be discussed with a health professional.
Q. Does this product contain any animal products?
